Software covered in this blog

To sell on Flipkart, Meesho or Snapdeal you register on each marketplace's own seller portal: Flipkart Seller Hub (seller.flipkart.com), the Meesho supplier panel (supplier.meesho.com) and Snapdeal's seller portal (sellers.snapdeal.com). All three need a bank account and tax details. Flipkart asks for GSTIN and PAN for most categories, Meesho accepts either a GSTIN or, for non-GST sellers, a GST Enrolment ID or UIN, and Snapdeal requires a GSTIN. Meesho advertises 0% commission and pays on the 7th day after delivery. Flipkart charges commission plus fixed, collection and shipping fees, and shows the exact rates inside Seller Hub.

App Advisor is an independent software comparison site. We are not affiliated with Flipkart, Meesho, Snapdeal, Ekart or Valmo, and we cannot register accounts or resolve seller disputes for you. Always sign up through the official portals listed below, and check fees there, because marketplaces revise them often.

Before you register: get these ready

You will move faster if you gather the basics once and reuse them on every portal:

  • PAN of the business or proprietor.
  • GSTIN if you are GST-registered. Meesho also offers a route for sellers without GST through an Enrolment ID or UIN, limited to categories that allow it.
  • Bank account in your name or your business's name, with IFSC and a cancelled cheque or statement.
  • Pickup address and address proof for your warehouse or shop.
  • A mobile number and email that you will not change, because OTPs and payout alerts go there.
  • Product photos, prices, HSN codes and GST rates for your catalogue.

If you do not have a GSTIN yet, remember that GST registration is a legal question as much as a marketplace one. Speak to your CA before choosing the non-GST route.

How to sell on Flipkart: Seller Hub step by step

Flipkart Seller Hub is the dashboard where you list products, accept orders, print labels and track payments.

1. Create your account

Go to seller.flipkart.com and choose to start selling. Enter your mobile number and email and verify them with OTPs.

2. Add GSTIN, PAN and bank details

Flipkart states that it cannot raise invoices on sellers without a GSTIN for GST-applicable categories, and orders on such accounts will not be processed. Enter your GSTIN, business name and PAN, then add your bank account for settlements.

3. Set up your pickup address and brand details

Add the address where the courier will collect orders. If you sell branded goods, you may need brand authorisation documents for some categories.

4. List products

You can list products one by one or in bulk through a spreadsheet upload. Each listing needs images, a title, specifications, the price, stock count, HSN code and tax rate. Listings go through a quality check before they go live.

5. Fulfil orders

When an order arrives, pack it, print the shipping label and invoice from Seller Hub and hand it to the courier at pickup. Flipkart also runs a warehouse-based programme (Fulfilled by Flipkart), where you send stock to Flipkart's warehouse in advance.

Flipkart fees: what you are charged

Flipkart's fees are built from these components:

  • Commission: a percentage of the selling price that varies by category and price band.
  • Fixed fee: a flat charge per order.
  • Collection fee: a charge for handling payment, which differs for prepaid and cash-on-delivery orders.
  • Shipping fee: the logistics charge, which depends on weight and on whether the delivery is local, zonal or national.
  • GST at 18% on the fees above.

Flipkart publishes its current rate card at seller.flipkart.com/fees-and-commission and shows the exact charges for your listings inside Seller Hub. We have not quoted percentages here because the rates depend on category, price and seller tier, and Flipkart revises them. Use the rate card and the calculator in Seller Hub before you price a product.

Ekart delivery charges

Ekart is Flipkart's in-house logistics arm and handles most Flipkart seller shipments. There is no separate public Ekart price list for marketplace sellers. Ekart delivery charges are part of the shipping fee shown in your Flipkart rate card, and they depend on:

  • the dead weight or volumetric weight of the packed parcel, whichever is higher;
  • the zone (local, zonal or national) between your pickup pincode and the buyer;
  • whether the order is returned (return shipping is charged separately under Flipkart's rules).

The simplest way to keep Ekart delivery charges down is to use the smallest box that protects the product, because volumetric weight often costs more than the actual weight.

How to sell on Meesho: supplier panel step by step

Meesho calls its sellers suppliers, and its seller dashboard is the supplier panel at supplier.meesho.com.

1. Sign up

Register with your mobile number and email and verify them.

2. Enter GSTIN or Enrolment ID

Meesho says all you need is an active bank account and either your GSTIN (for GST sellers) or an Enrolment ID / UIN (for non-GST sellers). Enter the number and verify it. Non-GST sellers can list only in categories that permit it.

3. Add pickup address and bank account

Meesho arranges the courier pickup, so your address must be accurate. Add the bank account for payouts.

4. Upload your catalogue

Upload products singly or in bulk. Meesho buyers are price-sensitive, so clear photos and competitive pricing matter.

5. Ship through Meesho's logistics

When an order comes in, you pack it and print the label from the supplier panel. The courier collects it from your address. Meesho increasingly uses Valmo, its own logistics network, for these shipments. You do not book a courier yourself.

Meesho commission, fees and payment cycle

  • Commission: Meesho advertises a 0% commission rate across all product categories.
  • Payment: Meesho states that payment is deposited in your bank account on the 7th day from order delivery, including cash-on-delivery orders. Its own example is an order delivered on 1 January being paid on 8 January.
  • Other deductions: check the pricing page on supplier.meesho.com and the supplier panel for shipping, return and penalty rules that apply to your account. Zero commission does not always mean zero deductions.

How to sell on Snapdeal

Snapdeal's seller portal is at sellers.snapdeal.com, which now redirects to Snapdeal's seller onboarding site.

  1. Register with your mobile number and email.
  2. Submit KYC: a GSTIN is mandatory, plus PAN and address proof.
  3. Add bank details for settlements.
  4. List products individually or in bulk.
  5. Fulfil orders through Snapdeal-arranged pickup.

Snapdeal does not publish its full commission table or payment schedule on its public signup page, and figures quoted on third-party blogs are not official. Check the fee and payment terms shown in your seller agreement and panel before you list.

Flipkart vs Meesho vs Snapdeal: which should you start with?

  • Start with Meesho if you sell unbranded, low-ticket fashion, home or accessories to price-conscious buyers and want the lowest fixed cost of entry.
  • Start with Flipkart if you sell branded products, electronics or higher-ticket items where search traffic and buyer trust matter more than commission.
  • Add Snapdeal as an extra channel once your catalogue and packing process are stable on the others.

Many sellers run all three. The problem then becomes operations, not registration.

Software that makes multi-marketplace selling manageable

Once you sell on two or more marketplaces, typing stock and orders into each panel stops working. These tool types help:

How to choose where and how to sell

  1. Match the marketplace to your price point. Low-ticket unbranded goods usually suit Meesho. Branded and higher-value goods usually suit Flipkart.
  2. Work out your landed margin. Take the selling price, then subtract commission, fixed and collection fees, shipping, GST on fees, packaging and expected returns. Use each portal's own calculator.
  3. Plan for returns. Returns and RTO (return to origin) are a real cost, especially on cash-on-delivery orders.
  4. Keep GST clean. Marketplaces deduct TCS and report your sales, so your GST returns must match.
  5. Automate before you scale. Add inventory sync before you list the same product on a second marketplace.
