Sinch

Sinch AB is a Swedish communications platform company headquartered in Stockholm and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. It started in 2008 with six employees and makes APIs and software that let businesses reach customers by SMS, RCS, WhatsApp and other chat apps, voice, video and email. Sinch says its platform handles close to one trillion customer interactions a year.

Sinch grew mainly by buying other companies. It acquired Pathwire in December 2021 in a deal worth about USD 1.9 billion. Pathwire brought the email products listed on appadvisor.in: Mailgun, a transactional email API originally built in San Antonio, US, Mailjet, an email marketing tool founded in Paris, and Email on Acid, an email testing tool. Sinch Engage, formerly MessengerPeople, handles conversational messaging. Other acquisitions include Inteliquent, MessageMedia and SAP Digital Interconnect.

India is a large market for Sinch. Between 2019 and 2021 it bought ACL Mobile, an Indian enterprise messaging provider, which gave it direct connections with Indian telecom operators and bank customers. Indian businesses mostly use Sinch for SMS alerts, one-time passwords and WhatsApp messaging, paying per message under negotiated contracts. Mailgun and Mailjet are sold online worldwide on self-serve plans priced in US dollars.

Laurinda Pang, CEO since 2023, announced in May 2026 that she would step down. On 8 June 2026 the board named CFO Jonas Dahlberg acting CEO, with Erik Fröberg as Chairman of the Board. Sinch says it delivered more than one billion RCS Business Messages worldwide in 2025. Before joining Sinch as CFO in April 2025, Jonas Dahlberg was CEO and CFO of Transcom, a customer-experience outsourcing company.
