Yellow.ai is a conversational AI company that builds AI agents and automation for customer service and employee experience. It was founded in Bengaluru in 2016 and is now headquartered in San Mateo, California, while engineering and operations remain in Bengaluru.

Its products let enterprises deploy chat and voice AI agents across websites, apps, WhatsApp, messaging platforms and contact centres. They also offer employee-service automation for HR and IT helpdesks and analytics for tuning conversations. For Indian businesses, the most relevant offerings are the Yellow.ai platform, Yellow.ai WhatsApp automation and Yellow.ai Agents, which are used mainly by large banks, insurers, retailers and consumer brands with high support volumes.

Yellow.ai sells to mid-market and enterprise customers through direct sales, and its pricing is custom-quoted, generally depending on conversation volume, channels and deployment scope. The company lists offices in the United States, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the UAE.

Raghu Ravinutala, the CEO, Jaya Kishore Reddy, the Chief Product Officer, and Rashid Khan, the Chief Marketing Officer, co-founded the company. Its most recently announced venture round was a $78 million Series C led by WestBridge Capital in August 2021, with participation from Sapphire Ventures, Salesforce Ventures and Lightspeed. Yellow.ai names Randstad USA and UnionBank of the Philippines among its customers. It has not published a current employee count or revenue figures on its About page. Because Yellow.ai contracts through a US legal entity, Indian enterprise buyers should confirm which entity invoices them, where their data is hosted, and how applicable taxes are treated before they sign an agreement.
