A typical Indian school's fee rules include: different heads (tuition, transport, lab, activity, exam) with different periodicities; class-wise and sometimes section-wise amounts; sibling and staff-ward concessions with rules about which child gets them; RTE and scholarship students whose fees are partly or wholly waived; transport charged by distance slab and changed mid-year when a family moves; instalment plans with due dates; and late fines that differ by class or are waived at the principal's discretion. Online collection and what it actually costs
Online fee payment through UPI, net banking or card is now expected by parents, and it removes most of the reconciliation problem because each payment carries a reference.
